FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan Softball team (21-13) defeated Dallas Christian College (4-26) in both games of a DH on Saturday afternoon at Sycamore Park. The Lady Rams won game one 5 to 4 and won game 2 8-0.
In game one, The Lady Rams overcame a 4-2 deficit in the sixth inning. In the first inning,
Kylie Summers and
Brynna Foster scored on errors to make the score 2-0. DCC answered back with a four run fifth inning to gain a 4-2 advantage.
Rhea-Ann Avalos launched a double to score
Devin Dunn to cut the deficit to one run.Â
In the sixth inning, the Lady Rams retook the lead after
Ajah Jackson scored on a single by
Kylie Summers and then Summers scoring on an error.
Kylie Summers and
Rhea-Ann Avalos both recorded one hit and one RBI.
Dylann Kaderka corralled her eleventh win of the season after pitching six innings, allowing 1 earned run and six hits. Kaderka fanned seven batters in 24 batters faced.Â
In game two, TXWES shutout DCC in five innings.
Izzy Valenzuela started the scoring for the Lady Rams with a single through the left side to make the score 1-0.
Kylie Summers followed with a two run double to extend the TXWES lead to 3-0. In the fifth inning, the Lady Rams started the scoring with a double by
Izzy Valenzuela to make the lead 4-0. Valenzuela scored on a passed ball a couple pitches later. To end the game,
Devin Dunn reached on an error to score
Kylie Summers to clinch n 8-0 victory by a run-rule.Â
Taylor Tubbs put together a dominant performance on the mound with a complete game shutout. Tubbs pitched five innings, allowing no runs and recording five strikeouts.
Izzy Valenzuela recorded two hits and two RBI's. TXWES will face SAGU on Friday at Sycamore Park in an SAC DH at 1 and 3 p.m.
