FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan Baseball team (25-16, 11-8 SAC) used solid pitching on Friday afternoon to outlast Mid-America Christian (24-12, 10-6) 3-2 at Sycamore Park in a Sooner Athletic Conference clash.
In a defensive-minded game, runs were hard to come by and TXWES was able to play team baseball to capture a win in a key SAC matchup.Â

Chaesten Chon and Kevin Santiago scored on a wild pitch to make the score 2-0. MACU battled back in the fifth inning with two runs to tie the game at two.Â
In the sixth inning,
Jose Sosa blasted a game-deciding triple off the right field wall to score
Hayden Hutchins to make the score 3-2. TXWES was able to hold the Evangels scoreless for the rest of the game to secure the 3-2 win.
TXWES strung together a dominant all-together performance on the mound with six different pitchers contributing.
Garrett Bodine pitched 3.2 innings, allowing no runs and three hits. He also recorded four strikeouts.
Ian Landreneau grasped his second win of the season after pitching 1 inning and allowing no runs.
David Theriot pitched two innings, allowing one hit and one walk.
Morgan McCloud picked up his fourth save of the year after closing the game.Â
Joseph Barfield recorded one hit and one RBI in four at-bats.
