FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan Baseball team (29-16, 13-8 SAC) defeated Bacone College (0-33) on Friday afternoon at Sycamore Park to kick off Alumni weekend.
In game one, Starting things off on the mound for TXWES BB
Brayden McAlister picked up three strikeouts and allowed two runs across the board.
In the first inning,
Hayden Hutchins had a hot start with a bomb to right field, gaining the lead 2-0. Right after, Kevin Santiago followed up with a two-run home run making the score 4-0 early.
Stephen Roberts came in on the mound allowing two runs across the board and picking up three strike outs for TXWES BB.
Bats stayed hot for TXWES BB in the third inning when A. Kenny tripled to right center picking up three RBIs.
In the fifth, T. Slaughter singled to right field. Shortly after,
Joseph Barfield homered down the right field line making the score 13-4, picking up three RBIs. To finish at the plate for TXWES BB
Greyson Barrett homered to right field securing the 15-4 win against Bacone.
To finish, on the mound
Victor Silverio allowed no runs across the board.
In game two, TXWES BB got things going early in the third inning scoring six runs.
Hayden Hutchins singled through the left side to get the Rams rolling to gain a 1-0 lead. After the TXWES BB team racked up five more runs in the third inning when
Marcos Sanchez doubled down the left field line scoring two. To end the third inning Kevin Santiago doubled, scoring one more run.
Matt Espinosa led off on the mound for TXWES BB. Picking up a couple of strike-outs and allowing no runs across the board.
In the fifth inning,
Joseph Barfield singled through the left side scoring
JD Padgett making the score 9-0. Also, in the fifth inning
Jake Ervin doubled to left center, picking up two RBIs to get the Rams up 11-0.
To finish things for TXWES BB
Justin Ward came in and picked up a win against Bacone with four strikeouts and allowing no runs across the board. The Rams will face Bacone College in a DH tomorrow on Senior Day where they honor their three seniors.
