FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan Softball team (25-17, 15-13 SAC defeated Langston University 2-0 in game one and 5-1 in game two on Senior Day. TXWES celebrated its three seniors, Sandy Lopez,
Morgan Cessop, and
Mercedes Beltran in between games.
In game one,
Taylor Tubbs did not allow a single run as TXWES defeated Langston 2-0 on Saturday. Tubbs allowed just two hits with five strike outs.
TXWES got things started in the first inning when Rhea-Ann Avalos doubled to score Brynna Foster.
Brynna Foster, Breanna Leathers, and Avalos each collected one hit to lead The Lady Rams. TXWES did not commit a single error in the field playing spectacular defense.
In game two, TXWES put up four runs in the fifth inning, and scored two runs on a home run by Rhea-Ann Avalos.
Dylann Kaderka was dominant on the rubber. She went seven innings, allowing one run on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.
TXWES had nine hits in the game. Sandy Lopez and Brynna Foster each had multiple hits for The Lady Rams. Foster and Lopez both had two hits to lead TXWES.
TXWES was flawless on defense for the day, not coommitting an error. The Lady Rams will compete in the SAC Tournament from May 5-7 with aspirations of winning a conference title.
