The TXWES Men's Basketball (12-10, 9-7 SAC) lost to the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (14-8, 9-7 SAC) on Saturday, 88-78.

 The Rams trailed 42-29 going into halftime. TXWES shot 11-29 (37.93%) from the field, 6-14 (42.86%) from the three-point line and 1-2 (50%) from the free-throw line in the first half. In the second half, the Rams shot 19-35 (54.29%) from the field, 6-14 (42.86%) from the three-point line and 6-8 (83.3%) from the free throw line.

 For the game, TXWES was 30-64 from the field (54.29%), 12-28 from the three-point line (42.86%), and 5-6 from the free-throw line (83.33%). The Rams scored nine second-chance points, 30 points in the paint, and 14 points off turnovers.

 TXWES contained SAGU to 27-55 shooting from the field (49.1%), 10-26 from the three-point line (38.5%) and 24-35 from the free-throw line (68.6%). SAGU scored 22 points in the paint, 21 points off turnovers and 16 second-chance points.

Four Rams scored in double figures. Akili Vining led the Rams with 22 points, on 8-16 from the field and four rebounds. Peyton Sallee scored 17 points and nine rebounds in 39 minutes. Juwan Jones came off the bench to add 14 points in 22 minutes. Robert Brown scored 10 points in 25 minutes.

 The Rams' next game Is against Southwestern Christian University, in the Sid Richardson Center, with tip-off scheduled for 7:45 PM.
