TXWES Men's Basketball (6-7, 3-4 SAC) fell to Mid-America Christian University (5-8, 2-5 SAC) on Monday at home, 86-83.
 
The Rams trailed 45-42 going into halftime. TXWES shot 16-26 (61.54%) from the field, 10-15 (66.67%) from the three-point line and 0-2 (0%) from the free-throw line in the first half. In the second half, the Rams shot 15-35 (42.86%) from the field, 6-16 (37.5%) from the three-point line and 5-7 (71.43%) from the free throw line.
 
For the game, TXWES was 31-61 from the field (50.8%), 16-31 from the three-point line (51.6%), and 5-9 from the free-throw line (55.6%). The Rams scored five second-chance points, 26 points in the paint, and 14 points off turnovers.
 
TXWES contained MACU to 24-49 shooting from the field (49%), 7-16 from the three-point line (43.8%) and 31-35 from the free-throw line (88.6%). MACU scored 26 points in the paint, 14 points off turnovers, and seven second-chance points.
 
Four Rams scored in double figures. PeytonSallee led the Rams, who scored 14 points, shooting 4-7 from three-point range, in 37 minutes played. Akili Vining scored 13 points on 5-12 shooting from the field, and Micale Mee and Matt Nero scored 10 points each.
 
 The Rams will next play on the road on Jan. 5 against Central Christian College, with tip-off set for 7:45 PM in McPherson, KS.
