Waxahachie, TX – On Saturday, Texas Wesleyan University triumphed with an impressive 51-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU).
The win propelled Texas Wesleyan to a 6-1 season record, securing three conference wins. Conversely, SAGU faltered and now stands at a 5-2 season record with three conference victories.
The game opened with Texas Wesleyan taking an early lead. Placekicker Gerrit Blodgett exhibited his precision by booting a 45-yard field goal, giving his team a 3-0 advantage.
The Texas Wesleyan offense showcased its aerial prowess as quarterback Carson Rodgers connected with receiver AJ Bobb for a 46-yard touchdown pass. A successful two-point conversion followed, extending the score to an imposing 18-0.
The lead continued to expand when running back Ernest Ceasar powered through SAGU's defense with a 1-yard touchdown run. Blodgett added the extra point, elevating the score to 25-0.

Then, Texas Wesleyan extended their scoring spree with Mitchell dashing for a 5-yard touchdown, and Gerrit Blodgett's successful extra point furthered their lead to a staggering 41-0.
In the third quarter, Blodgett continued to widen Texas Wesleyan's lead by confidently knocking down a 23-yard field goal, pushing the score to an almost unsurmountable 44-0.
The game's climax arrived at 11:31 in the fourth quarter when Texas Wesleyan's Jay Reed capitalized on a fumble, galloping 45 yards for a touchdown. Blodgett's successful extra point conversion made the final score 51-0, sealing SAGU's fate.
