The Texas Wesleyan Softball (1-2) team got off to a strong start in their first game of the season against Lyon College (0-2). Despite the tough competition, the team dominated the game with a final score of 7-1.
The Texas Wesleyan offense was firing on all cylinders from the get-go, putting up three runs in the first inning and never looking back.

Izzy Valenzuela both had RBI singles in the first inning to get the ball rolling.
Krysta White added another run with a walk, making it a 3-0 lead for Texas Wesleyan.
Lyon College scored their only run of the game in the second inning with a single from Alix Voth, but that was all they could muster. The Texas Wesleyan defense held firm and did not allow any more runs to score.
Brynna Foster added another run in the fourth inning with a double, and
Kylie Summers sealed the game with a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Texas Wesleyan's pitching was also on point, with
Taylor Tubbs earning the win after a solid performance on the mound.
