WBB: Lady Rams Rebound with Win over Southwestern Christian

The TXWES Women's Basketball (21-3, 16-2 SAC) beat Southwestern Christian University (11-12, 9-9 SAC) on Saturday, 88-71.
   
 The Lady Rams led 47-29 going into halftime. TXWES shot 8-18 (44.44%) from the field, 0-0 (0%) from the three-point line and 5-6 (50%) from the free-throw line in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Rams shot 9-9 (47.37%) from the field, 0-3 (0%) from the three-point line and 10-12 (83.33%) from the free throw line.
 
 In the third quarter, the Lady Rams were 8-22 (36.36%) from the floor, 2-4 (50%) from the three-point line and 5-8 (62.5%) from the free throw line. In the final quarter, the Lady Rams were 8-16 (50%) from the field, 2-4 (50%) from the three-point line and 0-2 (0%) from the free throw line.
   
 For the game, TXWES was 33-75 from the field (44%), 4-11 from the three-point line (36.4%), and 19-28 from the free-throw line (64.3%). The Rams scored 21 second-chance points, 36 points in the paint, and 20 points off turnovers.

 Four Lady Rams scored in double digits. Kertisa Amos led the Lady Rams with 17 points, on 7-15 from the floor, in 26 minutes. Zarria Carter contributed 16 points and ten rebounds, for a double-double, in 24 minutes. Makayla Coy scored 13 points and ten rebounds for the Lady Rams' second double-double of the game. Taryn Wills came off the bench to score 11 points in 24 minutes. 

 The Lady Rams' next game is against Central Christian College of Kansas, on Feb. 9, in the Sid Richardson Center, with tip-off scheduled for 6 PM.
