Fort Worth , TX – On Tuesday afternoon the Lady Rams faced off against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions in a doubleheader matchup.
Game 1
The Lady Rams failed to score in the day's first game, recording their sixth scoreless game of the season with a 7-0 loss. SAGU was able to take an early advantage in the first inning as McKenzie Schulze singled to left field, advancing Sasha Jennings to third capped off by another scoring run. A few moments later Trista Ford hit a homer out to left field which took the score to 4-0. Texas Wesleyan never answered SAGU's call as the Lady Lions would score three more times in the fifth inning.
Game 2
Much like the first game, the Lady Lions got off to an early start with a 2-0 lead over the Texas Wesleyan. The Lady Rams showed some life at the bottom of the fourth inning with a Krysta White single up the middle and a single to left field from Izzy Valenzuela. The game got interesting as we neared the final inning. With the Lady Lions in scoring position to extend their lead, the defense of the Lady Rams managed to keep the score at 2-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh.
The final play of the day saw Kylie summers up to bat with Rhyan Pogue at second; Jaeley May at third. Summers popped one up to second base and was easily pulled in by a SAGU player and the game ended 2-0 in favor of the Lady Lions.
Tomorrow, The Lady Rams will travel to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie, Texas to face off against the Lady Lions to conclude the series. Game one starts at 12 P.M. and game two will start 30 minutes after the first concludes.
