Bethany, OK - Southwestern Christian University Sweeps day one doubleheader over Texas Wesleyan, Lady Rams fall 3-0 and 8-1.
Game 1
The pitching from the Lady Eagles dominated Game one as only four hits were allowed with no runs. The lady rams struggled offensively as Devin Dunn, Izzy Valenzuela, and Brynna Foster were able to get hits off but nothing generated for the rams as they went scoreless in game 1. In the fourth inning Southwestern Christian would start the scoring run with a single up the middle and scoring run to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. In the fifth, SCU managed to extend their lead again. The game ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of the Lady Eagles
Game 2
SCU started the game with a homer followed by two quick scores to give the eagles a 3-0 lead. The Lady Rams continued to struggle to put some runs on the board while SCU would score two more times heading into the third. Texas Wesleyan started to find their footing as Alyssa Bates singled down to left field followed by a wild pitch that allowed her to advance to second. Kylie Summers doubled to left field and A. Bates was able to score making the score 1-5. With some momentum in their side Texas Wesleyan started the bottom of the third with some renewed energy. Krysta White stuck out an SCU player and the defense picked up for a quick 2 outs. Unfortunately, the Lady Rams failed to generate any more points in the match as SCU would go on to score 3 more times ending the game 1-8.
The Lady Rams return to action today for a doubleheader against SCU in Bethany, OK. First pitch is at 12 P.M. and the second game will start after that.
