Game 1:
Texas Wesleyan dominated Mid-America Christian in a baseball game in the first of two games on Saturday, winning 15-0. Â
Texas Wesleyan was in control of the game from the start, scoring four runs in the first inning and three more in the second. Greyson Barrett had an outstanding game, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including a home run to left field in the sixth inning that brought in three runs. Jonathan Pena also hit a home run, scoring three runs in the first inning. Kevin Santiago had two hits, including a home run to left field in the sixth inning, which brought in one run.
On the defensive side, Texas Wesleyan's pitchers were almost perfect, not allowing any runs to the opposing team. Texas Wesleyan's defense made no errors.
Mid-America Christian struggled to get on the scoreboard, getting only six hits throughout the game, with no players hitting a home run. Their pitcher, Isaac Baez, gave up seven runs, although only two of them were earned. Overall, it was a rough game for Mid-America Christian, as they were unable to match Texas Wesleyan's offensive and defensive abilities.
Game 2:
Texas Wesleyan University defeated Mid-America Christian University 11-6 in the second game on Saturday afternoon.
Mid-America Christian University opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-RBI single by C. Medina. Texas Wesleyan University responded with a solo home run by Brandon Rincones in the bottom of the inning.
Mid-America Christian University added a run in the third inning with an RBI single by CrRlos Medina and two more runs in the fourth inning with a two-run home run by Andrew Enwiya. Texas Wesleyan University mounted a comeback in the sixth inning, scoring seven runs, including three home runs by Carson Cheaney, Grayson Barrett and Silvertooth. They added two more runs in the seventh inning with a two-RBI home run by Logan Silvertooth. Mid-America Christian University scored a run in the seventh inning with an RBI single by Yan Ely Adames.
David Theriot (4-0) got the win for Texas Wesleyan University, while Cameron Brown (5-7) took the loss for Mid-America Christian University. Texas Wesleyan University had nine hits and committed two errors, while Mid-America Christian University had eight hits and committed two errors.
The offensive and defensive performance of Texas Wesleyan University was impressive, especially in the sixth inning, where they scored seven runs. The three home runs hit by Texas Wesleyan University players in the sixth inning and one more in the seventh inning helped them to overcome the early deficit and win the game.Â
