MGOLF: Rams Sign Three Golfers to Texas Wesleyan University Men’s Golf Team

Fort Worth, TX - Head Coach Kevin Long announced the signing of three golfers to the Texas Wesleyan University men's golf team.

Godley High School senior Colin Price, Dylan Kiser from Aledo High School, and transfer student Bryan DeJonge from Faulkner University all signed to play golf for the rams next season.

Collin Price is the current district and regional champion and will be making his third consecutive appearance at the UIL state tournament this week at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. In his junior season he finished fifth in the state tourney and placed 11th at the state contest when he was a sophomore in 2021.

"He is an excellent student," said Coach Long. "I have known Colin and his family since he was a very young boy through his involvement in the First Tee program. He is a highly competitive golfer and a young man with excellent character; traits we value in our program here at Texas Wesleyan. I look forward to him having an outstanding career as a Ram."

Dylan Kiser from Aledo High School is a four-year player on the varsity golf team located just west of Fort Worth. Kiser had an impressive resume that includes wins in high school events, as well as local, regional and statewide competitions. He holds the competitive scoring record in two different tournaments conducted by the First Tee and has represented First Tee at numerous Ryder-Cup style events.

Coach Long raved about the new addition to the university's golf team.

"Dylan is a young man that has a vast amount of potential and I feel confident he is going to have an outstanding career here at Texas Wesleyan," said Long. "His competitive success is filled with low rounds, and he regularly leads tournaments in sub-par scores recorded. I have known Dylan for many years through his involvement in First Tee and he possesses the values and character traits that make him successful as a person and student as well as on the golf course."

The last Signee Bryan DeJonge joins the rams for his junior season after spending two years at Faulkner University. DeJonge was an Integral Member of the 2022 Southern States Athletic Conference Championship Team as a freshman and won an individual title at the BMCU Golf Classic this year as Sophomore. He was also named Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week following the win at the BMCU Classic and Academic All-Conference in his sophomore year.

"Bryan is a proven winner at the college level on the golf course, in the classroom and as a leader. He brings a level of veteran experience to an already experienced team," Long said. "I expect that he will make an immediate contribution to the success of our program in 23-24. His college resume includes tournament wins, top 5 finishes and a consistent soaring average. I know he will have great success here at Texas Wesleyan."

The TXWES Men's Golf team finished third overall at this year's Sooner Athletic Conference Championship, played at Waterchase Golf Club. The rams look to their continued success heading into next season.
