Fort Worth, TX: Head Coach Randy Dalzell announced the signing of outstanding women's high jumper and sprinter Chioma Obi from Wylie High School in Wylie, TX. Obi has a personal best of 5' 5" in the high jump and 12.70 in the 100m. She won the Wylie Pirate Invitational and the Hebron Hawk Invitational in 2023 and was 3rd in the UIL 6A Area 9-10 meet in 2022 with her jump of 5' 5".
"Chioma is a great addition in the high jump, where I believe she can be a nationally competitive athlete right away. Additionally, she is a very good all-around athlete that could explore the heptathlon, hurdles and other events, especially with our new heptathlon/decathlon coach David Cox on board. We'll have some fun looking at those possibilities for Chioma and maximizing her impact. We are very excited to add her to our women's team and look forward to getting started with her in the Fall," said Dalzell.
