WT&F: Anshika Routray of India Signs With Track & Field Team

Fort Worth, TX -  Head Coach Randy Dalzell announced the signing of outstanding women's thrower Anshika Routray of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.

Routray graduated from Sai International Secondary School and competed for the Cuttack Club in athletics. She is a decorated thrower with many accolades including a gold medal finish new with a state record of 12.83m (42' 1.25") in the shot put and a silver medalist at the Junior National Athletic Championships in Hanola, Finland. She was also named the CBSE school national record holder in the shot put. Her talents are not limited to the shot put as she is also a competitive discus thrower and will compete in the discus and as well as the hammer throw. Routray will be a freshman studying business and will compete in indoor and outdoor track and field.

Head coach Rand Dalzell Routray will fill a key spot in the women's program and will play a vital part of the women's team success this upcoming season.

"We are very excited to add Anshika to our women's track and field program," said Dalzell. "She is a very competitive shot putter and also has good potential to develop in the discus and hammer. Our throwing coach, Duke Kicinski, will have a great opportunity to help her develop into one the top women's throwers for India."
