VB: Rams Take Down Lions 3-0

FORT WORTH, Texas — No.20 Texas Wesleyan put on a dominant performance as they defeated Langston University in (25-7, 25-15, 25-14) on Friday evening.
 
In front of their home crowd the Rams put on a clinic and took care of the Lions in straight sets to open confer play. The Rams led in every statical category, hitting .323 on the match with their highest coming in the first set hitting .600 off 10 kills with only one error and 15 attempts. Where the he Rams really shined was behind the service line as the team served a staggering 15 aces in the match.
Hannah Rubis led with ten kills while Kendal King knocked down six kills. Ruby O'Brien and Makenna Gannt both totaled 11 assists.
 
Andrea Malek led the Lady Rams with 11 digs followed by Emily Lewis with eight of her own.  Gannt and Malek led in aces with four each while American Galvan recorded three of her own.
 
Set one was the most lopsided as Langston would hit in the negative attacking percentage. The Rams scored the first point of the set and never looked back as they jumped to a 14-5 lead to start. Langston would continue to put up fight, but the Rams would go on to win 25-7, posting the biggest set win margin this season. From there, the Lions would unravel as TXWES took control of the match, beating HTU in the remaining sets by the same score 25-15 and 25-15
 
The Lady Rams will be back in the Sid Richardson Center tomorrow, hosting conference opponents Central Christian College at 1 p.m.
