WBB: Rams Win Tight Game 66-63 on the Road Against OCU

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball held on to win a tight battle against Oklahoma City 66-63 on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams would control the game for majority of the contest that saw four players reach double-figures with Mary Nyakundi leading the way with 18 points including three makes from beyond the arc.

Late in the fourth the Star would come storming back on a 10-0 run to cut into the deficit. Texas Wesleyan would extend the lead back out to no avail as Oklahoma City would yet again go on another run to trim the deficit down to one point.

Oklahoma City would continue to battle hard but could not convert on any more shots forcing the Stars to have to foul as the Rams close out the game with a pair of free throws to secure the 66-63 victory.

Nyakundi would finish with 18 points and seven rebounds. Kamryn Gibson and Savanna Smith would each finish with 11 points while teammate Taryn Wills would put up a double-double performance with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
