BB: Rams Drop Two Games to Kansas Wesleyan

FORT WORTH, TX - During game one on Saturday, Texas Wesleyan lost to Kansas Wesleyan 5-3. The game's scoring kicked off in the 1st inning as Reese Bishop struck out but reached first on a wild pitch, allowing Jarrett Gable to score for KWU. The 2nd inning saw Jacob Williamson doubling down the left-field line, bringing home Adrian Villalobos for another run. However, Texas Wesleyan responded strongly in the same inning with Ryan Flores hitting a home run to left center, driving in two runs and leveling the score at 2-2.

Kansas Wesleyan regained the lead in the 3rd inning when Zach Beatty scored on a wild pitch. The 4th inning saw Bishop's double and Erik Romero's single contributing to KWU's lead, making it 5-2. Texas Wesleyan managed to score one more run in the 4th inning, but KWU's solid pitching, led by Nathan Righi, Ritter Steinmann, and Ryan Sandoval, held off any further comeback attempts. Righi secured the win, while Sandoval earned the save.  
 

In game two, Kansas Wesleyan secured a convincing 12-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan. The game showcased an impressive offensive display by Kansas Wesleyan, particularly in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Bishop started the scoring with a homer to left field, driving in Tyler Favretto. Williamson followed with a single to left center, adding another run to the scoreboard. The 3rd inning witnessed an offensive explosion from KWU, featuring homers from Gable and Bishop, along with a triple by Kendall Foster, contributing to a seven-run inning and a 9-0 lead.

Williamson continued to shine with a triple in the 6th inning, adding another run. Gable capped off the offensive showcase with another homer in the 7th inning. On the pitching side, Brannen delivered a stellar performance, going six innings and allowing only three hits with seven strikeouts. Danny Ramirez closed the game with a solid inning, securing the victory. Texas Wesleyan's lone run came from Flores' homer in the 7th inning. The win went to Jarrett Brannen, with the save credited to Ramirez, while Taylor Hendrix took the loss for Texas Wesleyan.

The Rams will play the last game of the series against Kansas Wesleyan tomorrow at Sycamore Park, with first pitch scheduled for noon.
