MBB: Rams Win Third Straight Game

 FORT WORTH, TX - On Saturday, Texas Wesleyan emerged victorious with a 79-71 win over SAGU. The first half set the tone for TXWES dominance, establishing a substantial 42-24 lead.


Adetokunbo Bakare led the charge with an outstanding performance, scoring 34 points on 11 of 15 shootings, including nine three-pointers.

SAGU faced challenges in the first half, shooting only 34.62% from the field. However, they adjusted in the second half, improving their shooting percentage to 51.52%. 

Cortland Blake showcased his skills, contributing 24 points for SAGU, including four three-pointers. Despite their efforts, Texas Wesleyan maintained their lead, showcasing a balanced offensive effort with multiple players making significant contributions.

The Rams also to the scoring were Kris Lafayette with 18 points and Isaiah Marin's double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams.


SAGU demonstrated resilience in the second half, outscoring Texas Wesleyan 47-37, but the first-half deficit proved challenging to overcome.

Texas Wesleyan's strong first-half performance and individual standout efforts, especially from Bakare, Lafayette, and Marin, secured the win. 

The Rams will next play at home on Monday against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, with tip-off scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
