MSOC: Rams Push Lions to a Draw on the Road

WAXAHACHIE, TX - On Tuesday, Texas Wesleyan and Nelson University(Texas) battled to a 2-2 draw at LAC Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Nelson's Nathanael Zozaya opened the scoring in the 68th minute, assisted by Angel Cruz. Just minutes later, Cruz doubled the lead with help from John Garcia.

However, Texas Wesleyan responded swiftly when Daniel Jimenez scored in the 72nd minute, with an assist from Francisco Navarrete. Texas Wesleyan's Nathaniel Neang then equalized in the 79th minute, converting Chandler Brookins pass.

Despite several late chances, both teams settled for a draw. Nelson outshot Texas Wesleyan 16-8, with six shots on target compared to five for the Rams.

Texas Wesleyan's goalkeeper made four saves, while Nelson's keeper recorded three. Both teams earned a caution late in the match.

Texas Wesleyan moves to 7-5-2 overall and 1-2-2 in conference play, while Nelson remains winless at 0-2-3.

The Rams will return home to play Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against Mid-America University.
