FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Wesleyan fell 3-1 to undefeated Oklahoma City in a home match at Martin Field on Tuesday.
The Rams started strong, with
Luis Gallegos scoring just two seconds into the game, assisted by
Mathis Guffroy. However, Oklahoma City quickly responded, equalizing in the fourth minute with a goal from Thomas Brulay.
Oklahoma City continued to pressure, and Marco Alongi gave them the lead in the 22nd minute. Despite Texas Wesleyan's efforts to regain control, they struggled to break Oklahoma City's defense. The Rams managed nine shots, with five coming in the second half, but goalkeeper Alexis Bertrand made two key saves for Oklahoma City.
In the second half, both teams traded chances, but Texas Wesleyan couldn't capitalize. Oklahoma City sealed the victory with a goal from Shay Prescod in the 78th minute, assisted by Henrique Duarte. The TXWES defense held firm in the final minutes, blocking several shots, but the damage had already been done.
The Rams will next play at 3 p.m. on Saturday against Southwestern Christian in Bethany, OK.
