MSOC: Rams Battle to a Draw in Oklahoma

BETHANY, OK - Texas Wesleyan University (6-5-1, 0-2-1 SAC) battled to a 2-2 draw against Southwestern Christian (4-4-1, 0-2-1 SAC) in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Despite the Rams taking a second-half lead, the match ended in a stalemate, moving their record to 6-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.

Southwestern Christian opened the scoring early, with Alex Sainz netting a goal in the 11th minute, assisted by Teejay Chiororo.

The Rams responded in the 26th minute when Mathis Guffroy scored his first goal of the season, set up by Matteo Todorovic.

Early in the second half, Daniel Jimenez gave Texas Wesleyan a 2-1 advantage with Guffroy providing the assist, but Southwestern Christian equalized in the 84th minute through Alessandro Basaldua.

The match saw physical play, with four Texas Wesleyan players receiving cautions, but the Rams' defense, led by Jonathan Lopez, held firm to secure the draw.  

The Rams will next host Central Christian College of Kansas on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Field.
