MSOC: TXWES Beats Central Christian at Home 4-1

FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Wesleyan secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Central Christian (KS) on Tuesday at Martin Field. 


After an early goal by Marco Cherchi for Central Christian in the 9th minute, Texas Wesleyan responded with a strong performance. Nathaniel Neang equalized in the 39th minute, assisted by Mathis Guffroy


Guffroy then dominated the second half, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 48th, 61st, and 65th minutes, assisted by Neang, Matteo Todorovic, and Luis Gallegos, respectively. 


Texas Wesleyan controlled the pace, outshooting Central Christian 11-3 and putting six shots on target compared to Central's two. 


The Rams also led in corner kicks, earning four to Central Christian's three. Both teams received cautions, with Nicholas Arenare for Central Christian in the 48th minute and Fabricio Martinez for Texas Wesleyan in the 87th. 


With the win, Texas Wesleyan improved to 8-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.


The Rams will next play on the road at 7 p.m. on October 15 against Nelson University.
