PLAINVIEW, TX - Texas Wesleyan University (9-6-2, 3-3-2 SAC) defeated Wayland Baptist University (8-6-2, 2-4-2 SAC) 3-1 in a conference match on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams took the lead in the 25th minute when Chandler Brookins scored his second goal of the season, assisted by Luis Gallegos. Texas Wesleyan maintained control of the game through halftime, limiting Wayland Baptist's chances.

Wayland Baptist's Val Gonzalez equalized in the 73rd minute with his third goal of the season, but Texas Wesleyan quickly responded. In the 84th minute, Mathis Guffroy scored off an assist from Brookins, putting the Rams back in the lead.

Just under two minutes later, Fabricio Martinez secured the win with an unassisted goal, his second of the season.

The Rams led the offensive stats with 24 shots (14 on goal) compared to Wayland Baptist's 13 shots (five on goal). Wayland's goalkeeper was kept busy, making 11 saves, while Texas Wesleyan's defense held strong with only four saves required.
