MBB: Rams Beat Patriots at Home to Remain Undefeated

FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Wesleyan defeated Arlington Baptist 92-63 on Monday at the Sid Richardson Center, marking their second consecutive win for the season.

The Rams' dominant performance began in the first half, where they controlled the game with efficient shooting and strong defense, leading 47-23 at halftime.

Montez Young Jr. led the Rams with an impressive double-double, contributing 14 points and 16 rebounds. Young's efforts, particularly on the boards, helped Texas Wesleyan gain early momentum as he opened the scoring with a layup and jumper.

Trey Sinegal was also instrumental, adding 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including three three-pointers and two steals, showcasing his versatility offensively and defensively.

Midway through the first half, Vegas Evans added to Texas Wesleyan's lead, scoring a series of layups. Evans finished with 21 points, marking a standout performance from the Rams' bench.

Kristopher O'Neal II and Sinegal's perimeter shooting further extended the Rams' lead, with O'Neal hitting a timely three-pointer and Evans continuing to deliver strong drives.

In the second half, Texas Wesleyan sustained their momentum, maintaining a 20-plus point lead with solid teamwork and efficient scoring. Despite brief rallies from Arlington Baptist led by Isaiah Melvo, who scored a team-high 14 points, Texas Wesleyan held their ground with aggressive rebounding and fast-break opportunities, effectively capitalizing on Arlington Baptist's 16 turnovers.

The Rams out rebounded Arlington Baptist 51-36 and outscored them 48-28 in the paint, showcasing depth in scoring options and defensive prowess.  

The Rams will next play on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. against #5 Oklahoma Wesleyan University in the Sid Richardson Center.
