WSOC: Rams Fall to Drovers in Regular Season Finale

FORT WORTH, TX - On Tuesday evening, Texas Wesleyan University (4-11-3, 2-5-2 SAC) fell to No. 22 University of Science and Arts (16-1-1, 9-1-1 SAC), 5-1.

Despite the final score, the Lady Rams put forth a resilient effort against the nationally-ranked Drovers.

Science and Arts struck early, with Paula Casajus scoring three minutes into the game. The Rams' defense held off additional first-half threats, limiting the Drovers to a single goal in the opening period.

In the second half, the Rams created scoring opportunities but were challenged by Science and Arts' defense.

The Rams broke through in the 50th minute when Mikayla Trevino, assisted by Bailey Clark, scored a key goal, briefly narrowing the gap to 2-1. Trevino's goal energized the Rams, but the Drovers regained control. Casajus added two more goals to complete her hat trick, and Mabel Cremers contributed to the Drovers' offensive surge.

Goalkeeper efforts were a highlight for Texas Wesleyan, as they registered 11 saves against USAO's 21 shots.

The game tonight concluded the Rams part of the regular season. For now, the team must sit and wait to see where they will play in the first round of the SAC Tournament.
