WSOC: Rams Earn Victory on the Road 2-1

BETHANY, OK - Texas Wesleyan University (4-6-2, 2-1-1 SAC)earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Southwestern Christian (1-5-4, 0-4-0 SAC).

The Rams came out strong, with Gracie Spradley scoring the opening goal at the 12:32 mark, followed by Chloe Butler's strike in the 29th minute, assisted by Kristine Garcia.

Southwestern Christian quickly responded seconds later, with Abbigail Johnson scoring off an assist from Marina Angiolini, cutting the lead to 2-1.

Despite a quiet second half, the Rams maintained control, limiting Southwestern Christian's chances and outshooting them 10-5 overall, with seven shots on goal.

Southwestern Christian managed only one corner kick and struggled to create offensive opportunities throughout the game.

Goalkeeper Akacia Robles received a caution late in the match, but the TXWES defense held firm, with three saves securing the win.

The Rams will play Tuesday against Central Christian College of Kansas at 5 p.m. on Martin Field.
