WAXAHACHIE, TX - Texas Wesleyan played a tough conference match against Nelson (Texas), falling 3-0 in straight sets on Tuesday.
Despite a strong effort, Texas Wesleyan could not overcome Nelson's dominant performance, losing 19-25, 14-25, and 20-25.
Nelson's offense was efficient, with a hitting percentage of .250 compared to Texas Wesleyan's .053. Hanna Rubis led Texas Wesleyan with eight kills, while Makenna Gantt and Sydney Alexander each contributed six.
Emily Lewis recorded 15 digs, and Ruby O'Brien added 13 assists. Nelson's Lilly Hanna led her team with nine kills and four blocks, while Cassidy Hargesheimer provided 16 assists and two aces.
Texas Wesleyan struggled in the second set, hitting -.093 as Nelson capitalized on their errors. The Rams tallied 42 digs compared to Nelson's 45 but couldn't close the gap.
Texas Wesleyan now holds a 13-6 overall record and a 9-2 conference record, while Nelson remains undefeated in conference play at 11-0.
The Rams will return to action in the Sid Richardson Center at 6 p.m. on Friday.
