FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Wesleyan University (20-8, 16-4 SAC)secured a 3-0 victory against Langston University (3-25, 2-18 SAC) Saturday at the Sid Richardson Center.
The Rams secured their 11th sweep of the season with scores of 25-5, 25-17, and 25-6.
From the outset, Texas Wesleyan displayed an impressive offense and effective defense. The Rams recorded 42 kills with only 10 errors on 74 total attempts, achieving a .432 hitting percentage, while Langston struggled, ending with a negative hitting percentage of -.053 from 15 kills and 19 errors. Texas Wesleyan's most productive set was the third, recording 14 kills with just one error.
The Rams were impactful across the board. Makenna Gantt led with ten kills, followed by Grace Pavelka and Lyric Biggiers, each with seven kills. The Rams' serving game was also exceptional, tallying 12 service aces, with four each from Emily Lewis and Hanna Rubis. Sydney Alexander led defensively with five blocks, while Lyric Biggiers posted a match-high ten digs.
Langston's Lianna Payton contributed five kills, while Alycia Shaw and Lauren Collier added four each. Meagan Anderson led the team with nine assists, and Siena Redmond contributed five digs.
The Rams will play next, on Friday on the road at 6 p.m. against Oklahoma City University.
