SILOAM SPRINGS, AK — The Texas Wesleyan University men's basketball team secured a nail-biting 77-75 win over John Brown University on Thursday night at Bill George Arena.

The Rams improved to 6-3 overall and 2-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play, while the Golden Eagles fell to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the SAC.

The Rams took command early, dominating the first half with a balanced offensive attack. Richard Amaefule was pivotal, tallying 19 points and five rebounds, and his defensive presence disrupted the Golden Eagles' rhythm. Trey Sinegal added nine points, including a key three-pointer, as Texas Wesleyan built a 42-27 halftime lead.

In the second half, John Brown stormed back with a sharp offensive display, led by Carter Carbonell and Drew Miller, who combined for 24 points, including multiple three-pointers that cut into the Rams' lead. Despite the Golden Eagles shooting an impressive 63.3% in the second half, the Rams leaned on their depth and composure under pressure to maintain their advantage.

Montez Young Jr. provided a spark off the bench, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds, while Vegas Evans added 15 points and kept the momentum alive with fast-break opportunities. Anthony Sierras also contributed four crucial points in the paint during key moments.

As the game neared its conclusion, Texas Wesleyan capitalized on free throws and timely defensive stops. Amaefule and Evans combined for critical late-game free throws, and the Rams' defense stifled John Brown's final possession to secure the win.
