HOUSTON, TX - On Monday, at Houston's Reckling Park, Texas Wesleyan University's baseball team secured a victory against Houston-Victoria 4-3.

Texas Wesleyan initiated the scoring in the first inning, with Brandon Rincones' RBI bringing Rody Garcia home. However, Houston-Victoria responded strongly in the second inning, taking the lead with a three-run homer by Kaden Fikac.

Texas Wesleyan fought back in the sixth inning, closing the gap with an RBI single from Chase Cos, and tensions remained high throughout the match. In a nail-biting ninth inning, Texas Wesleyan sealed the victory when Rincones delivered a crucial RBI single, propelling his team to a 4-3 lead.

Noah Huerta, who entered the game in the sixth inning, claimed the win for Texas Wesleyan, improving to 1-1 for the season. Jorge Carvajal earned his fourth save of the season with a stellar performance in the final two innings. The game saw notable contributions from Garcia, who scored twice, and Ryan Flores, who delivered a crucial RBI.

The Rams will next open conference play when they travel to rival Southwestern Assemblies of God to play a series starting on March 1, with first pitch scheduled for noon.
