FORT WORTH, TX - In game one on Sunday, Texas Wesleyan University's (15-11, 5-3) baseball team beat the University of Science and Arts (15-9, 2-3) in a high-scoring game that ended 13-9.
The game started with the Drovers taking an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. However, the Rams quickly responded with an explosive offensive display in the bottom of the first, scoring nine runs to take a commanding lead. Rody Garcia, Ryan Flores, and Hayden Hutchens were instrumental in the rally contributing hits and RBIs.
USAO fought back in the second inning, narrowing the gap with five runs of their own, highlighted by a grand slam from Ben Bach. Despite Science and Arts' efforts to mount a comeback, Texas Wesleyan continued to extend their lead with timely hitting and solid pitching.
Flores and Hutchens continued to lead the offensive charge for the Rams, with Hutchens hitting a three-run homer in the third inning to further solidify their lead.
Pitcher Alfredo Martinez played a crucial role in relief the win for Texas Wesleyan, pitching five solid innings and allowing only two earned runs. Â

GAME TWO
In game two, USAO emerged victorious over TXWES 13-4.
The Drovers got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning courtesy of a two-run homer by Peyton McDowall. They continued to build their lead, adding another run in the second inning and extending it further with a solo shot from McDowall in the fourth.
The Rams attempted to rally in the fourth inning, with Angel Polanco's RBI double and Chase Cos's sacrifice fly bringing them within two runs.
However, Science and Arts responded emphatically in the fifth inning, scoring five runs highlighted by McDowall's second homer of the game and Devin Alvarez's two-run single.
Despite Rody Garcia and Jean-Luc Bussieres each hitting solo homers for Texas Wesleyan, Science and Arts' offense proved too much to overcome.
Brian Ereu pitched six solid innings for Science and Arts, allowing only three earned runs and striking out seven batters to earn his fifth win of the season.
The Rams and Drovers will play the rubber match in the series tomorrow in Sycamore Park, with first pitch scheduled for noon.
