BB: Rams Pull Out Close Win Over Texas A&M at Texarkana

FORT WORTH, TX - FORT WORTH, TX - On Tuesday, Texas Wesleyan played Texas A&M at Texarkana and emerged with a hard-fought victory 10-8.

Texas A&M Texarkana got off to an early start, scoring two runs in the first inning courtesy of Dakota Leopold's groundout and a wild pitch that allowed Luke Hyzdu to cross home plate.

Texas Wesleyan quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, with Hayden Hutchens blasting a three-run homer to left center, followed by Angel Polanco's RBI double, putting them ahead 4-2.

The scoring continued back and forth throughout the game. In the fifth inning, Texas A&M Texarkana tied the score at 4-4 with Leopold's RBI double and Adam Garren's two-run single. But Texas Wesleyan surged again with a six-run rally, highlighted by Chase Cos's two-run homer and Brandon Rincones's RBI double.

Despite a late offensive push from Texas A&M Texarkana, including Julian Macias's RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings, they couldn't overcome Texas Wesleyan's lead.

Noah Huerta won for Texas Wesleyan, while Marcos Moreno suffered the loss for Texas A&M Texarkana. Jorge Carvajal sealed the victory with his fifth save of the season.

The Rams will next play at Sycamore Park this weekend with a series against Central Christian College, starting with a doubleheader on Friday, with game one scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
