BB: Rams Extend Win Streak to Three Games

FORT WORTH, TX - In game one on Friday, Texas Wesleyan dominated Central Christian College (KS) with a final score of 9-0.

The Rams started the scoring with four runs in the first inning. TJ Tomlinson's walk brought in the first run, followed by walks to Chase Cos and Logan Silvertooth, which added to the lead. An error by CCCK's second baseman allowed another run to cross the plate, giving Texas Wesleyan a comfortable 4-0 lead in the first inning.

The offensive continued in the second inning, with TXWES capitalizing on wild pitches and errors, extending their lead to 7-0. By the fifth inning, they had amassed a formidable 9-0 lead, with additional runs scored due to errors by Central Christian.

Alfredo Martinez of Texas Wesleyan delivered an outstanding performance on the mound, allowing only one hit and no runs while striking out eleven batters in five innings, earning the win in game one for the Rams.

Central Christian struggled to find their footing offensively, managing only three hits throughout the game. Pitcher Cole Hancock faced difficulties, conceding seven runs in just two innings, resulting in the loss for Central Christian.

In game two, the Rams beat the Tigers with a final score of 6-3.

The game featured solid pitching performances from both sides, but Texas Wesleyan's offense managed to capitalize on key opportunities to secure the win.

Texas Wesleyan got on the scoreboard first in the second inning, with Silvertooth's single bringing in Tomlinson, followed by a sacrifice fly from Dylan Masanda that scored Cos, giving them an early 2-0 lead.

They added to their lead in the fourth inning when Masanda singled to left field, bringing in another run.

Central Christian fought back in the sixth inning, taking advantage of errors in the outfield to score three runs. Justin Ricketts and Justin Taylor each contributed RBI hits, closing the gap to just one run.

However, Texas Wesleyan responded immediately in the bottom of the sixth, with Ryan Flores and Hayden Hutchens delivering RBI hits to extend their lead to 6-3.

Pitcher Justin Ward of Texas Wesleyan earned the win, allowing three runs over five innings while striking out four batters. Garrett Bodine provided solid relief pitching, holding Central Christian scoreless over 1.2 innings. Noah Huerta closed out the game with a save, securing the win for Texas Wesleyan.

Central Christian's pitcher Peyton Ramsey pitched a complete game, but the team couldn't muster enough offense to overcome Texas Wesleyan's lead.

With this victory, Texas Wesleyan improved its record to 19-14 overall and 8-6 in conference play, while Central Christian fell to 7-26 for the season and 1-13 in SAC play.

The Rams will close out the three-game series tomorrow in Sycamore Park against the Tigers, with the first pitch scheduled for noon.
