BB: Rams Drop Two Games to No. 18 MACU

FORT WORTH, TX - In game one on Thursday, Texas Wesleyan University lost to Mid-America Christian University 7 to 5.

The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Mid-America Christian broke the deadlock with Jacob Police's double, driving in two runs. They extended their lead in the fifth inning with Taige Sakuma and Noel McGarry-Doyle contributing RBI singles.

MACU further solidified their advantage in the sixth inning with Sakuma's second RBI single and D'Andre Gaines' decisive two-run homer. 

However, TXWES refused to go down without a fight, mounting a late-game rally in the seventh inning.

Aiden Kenney got Texas Wesleyan on the scoreboard with an RBI single, followed by Rody Garcia's two-run single and T J Tomlinson's RBI single, closing the gap to just two runs. Ryan Flores added another run with an RBI single, but Texas Wesleyan failed to complete the comeback.

Issac Baez delivered a strong performance on the mound for Mid-America Christian, pitching six scoreless innings and earning the win. Justin Ward took the loss for the Rams despite a solid effort.

In game two against Mid-America Christian University, Texas Wesleyan fell short with a 6-2.

MACU got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning with Gaines' RBI double and McGarry-Doyle's sacrifice fly. They extended their lead with Gaines' solo homer in the third and Kyle Williams' RBI single in the same inning.

In the fourth, the Evangels added Sakuma's RBI single to their lead, followed by another run due to an error. Despite 

Texas Wesleyan's late push in the seventh inning, highlighted by LoganSilvertooth's RBI double and Chase Cos's RBI single, they couldn't overcome the deficit.

Zane Robeaux delivered a stellar performance for Mid-America Christian, pitching a complete game and allowing only two runs. 

Despite a valiant effort on the mound, Sutton Tidwell took the loss for Texas Wesleyan.

With this result, Texas Wesleyan's record dropped to 26-17 overall and 14-9 for conference play.

The Rams will close out the series against the Evangels on Senior Day at Sycamore Park, with the first pitch slated for 1 pm.
