SB: Rams Drop Four Game Series

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Texas Wesleyan softball team dropped a four-game series against No.2 Oklahoma City University over the weekend.

Texas Wesleyan surrendered just their second series sweep for the first time since falling to USAO in the first week of April as the Rams record drops to 20-24 (13-19).

In a tough battle, the Rams fell short in an 8-0 defeat in game one and 10-0 defeat in game two against an undefeated Stars team. Texas Wesleyan was shutout on only two hits while committing two errors, while Oklahoma City scored eight runs on 12 hits in game one.

Game two would see the Stars get off to another quick start scoring six runs in the first two innings. Oklahoma would go on to score 10 runs on five hits while Texas Wesleyan went without a run on three hits and had three errors.

The following day Oklahoma City would keep firing on all cylinders with three straight doubles to open the game before exploding for a seven-run inning in the third.
The Rams would see some point on the board as Jaelin Ornelas and Kylie Barnes would each score in the 4th inning to avoid the shut out.

Oklahoma City scored 12 runs on 12 hits while Texas Wesleyan scored twice on six hits while committing one error.

The final game of the series would find the Rams in a similar situation against the Stars as they trailed 2-0 early.  Oklahoma City would finish out the series with six runs on just four hits holding the Rams scoreless on three hits to go along with two errors.

Texas Wesleyan will wrap up its regular season schedule on the road against Langston University with game one starting April 26th at 2:00 P.M.
