ALEXANDRIA, LA- On Saturday, Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) faced off against Louisiana Christian University (LCU) in a match that ended with a 3-1 defeat for Texas Wesleyan.
The match began with a promising start for TXWES. Chandler Brookins scored early in the 4th minute, giving TXWES a 1-0 lead. However, the momentum shifted as Louisiana Christian responded with a solid offensive push. In the 23rd minute, Adrian Amoros Navarro equalized for LCU with a successful penalty kick.
The second half saw Louisiana Christian take control of the game. Joao Pedro Giraldez Franco scored the goal in the 67th minute, assisted by Pedro Sao Tiago. TXWES's defense struggled to contain LCU's advances, and the match was further sealed when Guilherme Mendes added a third goal for Louisiana Christian in the 85th minute, once again assisted by Sao Tiago.
Texas Wesleyan faced challenges throughout the game with both their offensive and defensive play. Despite managing four shots, only two were on target, and they had limited success with their single corner kick. In contrast, Louisiana Christian took 26 shots, with 11 on goal, and earned nine corner kicks, indicating a more persistent attacking effort.
