FORT WORTH, Texas- The Texas Wesleyan women's volleyball team completed doubleheader today, splitting matches on day one of the Texas Two-Step volleyball tournament

Match 1: Texas Wesleyan vs. College of Idaho
25-13, 28-26, 25-22

In their opener, Texas Wesleyan competed in their first match inside of the Sid Richardson for the first time this year, losing in three straight sets to the Yotes of the College of Idaho University. Each set was close in the first few points, but long stretches late in each frame put the Yotes ahead. The Rams would ultimately fall1-3 in the highly competitive match, with one set extending to a dramatic 28 points. Key highlights from the match included:
- Makenna Gantt led with 9 kills and 10 digs
- Ruby O'Brien contributed 16 assists.
- Makenna Dillow led all players with 22 digs, with Emily Lewis finishing with 17 digs to support the defensive effort.

Match 2: Texas Wesleyan vs Ave Maria
27-25, 20-25, 13-25,18-25
The Rams closed out the day with a 3-1 win over the Gyrenes of Ave Maria to capture their second win of the season. After dropping the first set, Texas Wesleyan would complete the reverse sweep in dominating fashion. The Rams hit an impressive .281 with 55 kills and only 17 errors. Â Key performers included:
- Sydney Alexander led the Rams with 11 kills and five blocks
- Makenna Gantt continued her strong showing with 10 kills. Hanna Rubis also added 10 kills on the match
- Ruby O'Brien dished 24 assists and finished just short of a double-double with nine digs.

The Rams are back at home for day two of the Texas Two-Step Tournament with a match at 9 AM against Montana followed by a match against Texas A&M-Texarkana at 4:30 PM.
