WSOC: TXWES Controls Texas College from the Start

FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Wesleyan cruised to a dominant 6-0 victory over Texas College on Monday, at Martin Field in Fort Worth. T

The Rams scored two goals in the first half and four in the second, showcasing their offensive prowess while keeping Texas College at bay throughout the match.

The scoring opened in the 16th minute when Haley Ellis found the back of the net, assisted by Kristine Garcia. Just ten minutes later, Garcia added her own goal, with Mackenzie Allen providing the assist, making it 2-0 heading into halftime.

Texas Wesleyan wasted no time extending their lead after the break. Mikayla Trevino scored seconds into the second half, assisted by Yareli Mendoza, followed by a goal from Gracie Spradley in the 49th minute, assisted by Kathryn Cameron.

Carly Jones capped off the scoring with two goals in quick succession. She netted her first in the 57th minute from a Kaitlyn Valitas assist, then struck again in the 60th minute, assisted by Alexa Bezpalko.

Texas Wesleyan dominated the match in every aspect. They took 28 shots, with 15 on target, while Texas College managed just one shot, which was blocked. The Rams also controlled set pieces with eight corner kicks to Texas College's none.

Texas College goalkeeper Alexa had a busy day, making nine saves, but the offensive onslaught from Texas Wesleyan was too much. Despite a strong defensive effort, Texas College struggled to create opportunities.

The win improved Texas Wesleyan's record to 2-5-0, while Texas College fell to 0-2-0.

The Rams will next play on Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Bethel at Martin Field.
