FORT WORTH, TX - On Wednesday, Texas Wesleyan University secured a 3-1 victory over Dallas Christian College in the last match before the opening of conference play.
The game started well for TXWES, with
Luis Gallegos scoring the opening goal in the 14th minute, assisted by
Mathis Guffroy. Guffroy doubled the lead just before halftime in the 35th minute, again with an assist from
Louis Guffroy.
The second half saw the Rams maintain their momentum, as
Osvaldo Lopez found the net in the 56th minute, extending their lead to 3-0. Dallas Christian College fought back, with Giovanni Canada scoring in the 79th minute, assisted by Kevin Jacinto.
DCC struggled with discipline, earning multiple yellow cards, including three quickly during the first half. Despite a spirited effort in the second half, including several attempts to break through the Rams' defense, the game ended with a solid 3-1 win for the home team. The match brings TXWES' record to 6-3-0, while Dallas Christian falls to 3-8-0.
The Rams will next travel on the road Saturday to play at 3 p.m. against conference foe John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR.
