MSOC: Rams Fall on the Road to Golden Eagles

SILOAM SPRINGS, AK -In a conference match-up on Saturday, Texas Wesleyan faced off against John Brown University, falling 7-3.

The first half saw JBU dominate with an aggressive offensive display. Alejandro Gallardo started the scoring in the 4th minute, followed by Marco Brizuela's goal eight minutes later. Although Mathis Guffroy netted a penalty kick for Texas Wesleyan in the 15th minute, JBU quickly regained control, scoring twice more in quick succession. By halftime, John Brown led 5-1.

The second half continued with JBU extending their lead when Gallardo scored his second goal in the 48th minute. Erick Diaz followed suit with a goal in the 57th minute, pushing the score to 7-1. Despite the significant deficit, Texas Wesleyan showed resilience. Chandler Brookins scored in the 70th minute, assisted by Matteo Todorovic, and Thomas Kerr added a late goal in the 86th minute, assisted by Brookins and Fabricio Martinez.

While the Rams displayed determination, they could not overcome JBU's early lead.

They will look to regroup as they return to Martin Field for a match against Oklahoma City University on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
