Oklahoma City, OK- Texas Wesleyan finished out the weekend with a hard fought 3-1 victory over the Evangels of Mid America Christian University.

The last time the two teams met was during the semi-final round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and much like that match Mid America struggled to slow down the Rams.

22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-14
Set one would see a fast start for Texas Wesleyan before their opponents found their footing. Late in the set, the Evangels put together two separate scoring runs of three-straight points and pulled away with a 20-17 lead. Though the Rams would close the gap slightly, Mid America would steal set one with a 25-22 victory.

Set and third set would be a back-and-forth battle as the Evangels would challenge the Rams until the very end where they were able to capture consecutive 25-22 wins.

The final set saw Texas Wesleyan open with 10-3 run forcing a timeout from Mid America. From here there was no looking back as Texas Wesleyan would nine of the next fifteen points to extend the lead. The Rams would continue to dominate the set and close out the match with a 25-14 win.

Texas Wesleyan will be back in action at home on Friday, September 16, at 6 pm to take on John Brown University in a SAC match up.
