MSOC: Rams Fall to Pilots on the Road

SHREVEPORT, LA - On Saturday, Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) faced LSU Shreveport (LSU-S) in a match that ultimately ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Rams.

The first half saw LSU-S take an early lead with two quick goals. Kodai Tanaka scored the opener at the 35:05 mark, assisted by Alex Golder and Joel Trub. Just 16 seconds later, Caleb Marchany extended the lead with an assist from Liam Vivian.

Despite a strong offensive effort from TXWES, which included several shots on goal, they were unable to find the net before halftime.

In the second half, Mathis Guffroy managed to pull one back for the Rams with a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. The goal briefly gave the Rams hope, but their momentum was short-lived. Joel Trub restored the Pilot's two-goal advantage with a strike in the 55th minute, assisted by Felix Mesquita.

Texas Wesleyan's efforts to close the gap were thwarted by strong defending and several key saves by LSU Shreveport's goalkeeper, Pieri Mack. Racking up a total of 11 shots and 3 corner kicks, the Rams struggled to break through the home team's defense.  .

The loss drops Texas Wesleyan to 3-2 for the season, while LSU Shreveport improves to 1-1-2. The Rams will next play against North America University on Friday in Houston, with the match scheduled to start at 7 PM.
