OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas Wesleyan secured the second spot in the 2025-26 Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Preseason Poll with 96 points and one first-place vote, as announced by the league's coaches. The Rams, who finished fifth last season with a 19-10 overall record and 15-9 in conference play, reached the conference tournament quarterfinals before losing to College of the Ozarks.
Langston claimed the top rank with 121 points and 11 first-place votes, following a historic 32-3 season, including a 23-1 conference record. The Lions won both the SAC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals, where they fell to eventual champion Dordt.
John Brown took third place with 87 points after a 13-16 overall record and 11-13 in conference play last season, exiting in the conference quarterfinals against Wayland Baptist. College of the Ozarks rounded out the top four with 86 points, following a 23-11 overall record and 17-7 in conference play. The Bobcats reached the SAC semifinals, losing to Langston, and fell to Hastings in the NAIA Tournament's opening round.
