WBB: Phillips Named SAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY - Kameryn Phillips of Texas Wesleyan University was named as the Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. Announced by the conference Monday.

Phillips led the Rams to a 1-1 record on the road last week by averaging 21.0 points per contest on 66.7 percent shooting. Phillips scored a team-high 24 points in a win over Our Lady of the Lake, while adding a team-high 18 points in a loss to Texas A&M – San Antonio. Phillips also grabbed 16 total rebounds in the two games, five of which were offensive.

Phillips was also the leader for the Rams defensively as she collected 11 defensive boards and had six steals over the two-game stretch. In the win over Our Lady of the Lake, Phillips had six defensive rebounds and five steals, while in the loss to Texas A&M – San Antonio, she added five defensive boards and a steal.
