OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas Wesleyan University had five members from the 2025 season named as an All-Conference selection for the Sooner Athletic Conference, announced by the conference Wednesday morning.
JD Boyd, who helped lead the Rams to a 25-7 overall record and a 20-2 record in the SAC, has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year in only his second year at Texas Wesleyan. Boyd helped the Rams finish the season as conference co-champions along with Nelson University and helped the Rams finish second in the SAC Volleyball Tournament.
Sydney Alexander, after being named a 2nd-Team All-SAC in 2024, has taken her game to new heights as she reached the SAC Defender of the Year and 1st-Team All-Conference for the first time in her Rams career. Alexander had a career year as she set a career high in kills (255), blocks (119), and points (341.5). Her 119 blocks this season placed her as second most in the conference as she also placed second in hitting percentage with .367 this season.
Hanna Rubis was named to the All-Conference 1st-Team as well as she took a huge step from finishing the season as an honorable mention in 2024. Rubis also recorded a career year, in her third year as a starter for the Rams she recorded career highs in kills (289), digs (129), service aces (42), and points (385.5). Rubis led the Rams offense all year and helped the Rams finish top two in the conference in points scored while finishing third in the conference in individual points scored.
Victoria Smith and
Emily Lewis both finished the year as 3rd-Team All-Conference selections. Smith, in her first year with the Rams, made an immediate impact as she finished third on the team in kills (223), blocks (85), and points (272.5). Lewis has been named an All-SAC selection for the first time in her career after recording a career-high 442 digs and led the Rams with 43 service aces this season. She also tallied 100 assists, marking her third best on the team.
