SB: Rams Stomp Tigers in Early Games

MCPHERSON, KS – Texas Wesleyan University (12-10) took on Central Christian College (KS) (2-16) in a doubleheader Friday afternoon in which the Rams came out victorious in both.

In game one, the Rams came out of the gate swinging as Haylie Delarosa got the day started with an easy single, to then be driven in by an RBI single from Ashley Darilek. Later that inning Kadynce Crenshaw ripped at RBI single to score another, and lastly Mattee Fry had an RBI walk to put the Rams up 3-0 to end the first.

In the second, the Rams scored once again from an RBI double from EB Zimmerman to score Delarosa once again. The Rams didn't get an extra run across the plate until the top of the fifth when the Rams compiled four more runs. The Rams saw RBI singles from Delarosa, Darilek, and Kylie Barnes. Crenshaw also helped contribute with a sacrifice fly. The Rams defeated the Tigers in game one with a score of 9-1.

Darilek had a great game at the plate by going three for four with three RBIs.

Barnes got the game started with an RBI single, then followed by Crenshaw, and then Jaelin Ornelas, who both had RBI singles as well. Bird got on the board as well with an RBI walk. The Tigers then answered with two runs of their own, bringing the score to 4-2 in favor of the Rams.

The Rams continued to put a pair of runs on each inning in consecutive innings to shut the door on the Tigers hope of a comeback.
