GOODWELL, OK – Texas Wesleyan University (7-9) After splitting the opening two games of the series against Oklahoma Panhandle State University (11-7) the Rams took a pair of hard fought losses in friday's matchup.

In game one, Oklahoma Panhandle State jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. The first run came on a fielding error by Texas Wesleyan shortstop Ashley Darilek, followed by a sacrifice fly from pitcher Marin Jacobs to bring in another. Texas Wesleyan struggled offensively throughout the game, only managing to get four hits. The Aggies' pitcher, Jacobs, was in control, allowing no runs in her five innings of work while striking out two and allowing one walk.

Kylie Barnes (3-5) took the loss in the circle for Texas Wesleyan, pitching three and a thirds innings and allowing six earned runs. Haylie Delarosa went 1-for-3 and showed some hustle on the base paths. Ultimately Panhandle state was in control in game one.

In game two of the double header on friday the Rams came up short again, despite strong performances by several Rams players, Oklahoma Panhandle State managed to capitalize on a few key moments to take the win. Texas Wesleyan took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Darilek singled to center field, bringing in Delarosa to score. In the third, Darilek's sacrifice fly to center field scored EB Zimmerman to give Texas Wesleyan a 2-0 lead.

The Aggies tied the game in the sixth on a series of errors from Texas Wesleyan's defense, with T. Higgins and E. Hornback both scoring on miscues to make it 3-2 in favor of Oklahoma Panhandle State. Texas Wesleyan struck back in the seventh when Delarosa's bunt single scored Devin Dunn to tie the game at 3-3. Delarosa later scored on a wild pitch, putting Texas Wesleyan back on top 4-3. However, the Aggies rallied in the eighth inning, scoring four runs, including a double from M. Jacobs that brought in M. Carroll, and singles by S. Marron and M. Carroll that gave Oklahoma Panhandle State a 7-6 lead.

Delarosa went 2-for-4 for the Rams with two runs scored, while Ashley Darilek drove in two RBIs. Kadynce Crenshaw also had a big hit in the eighth, delivering a two-RBI single. Despite the hard fought game by the Rams they came up short to the Aggies 6-7.
