FORT WORTH - Texas Wesleyan (2-3-0) fell to LSU Alexandria (3-0-0) by a score of 3-2 on Friday night at Martin Field.
The first half began with a strong defensive effort from the Rams'
Axel Tonietto, who made an early save against the Generals. In the 18th minute,
Chandler Brookins scored the opening goal for Texas Wesleyan, assisted by
Pablo Bances, giving the team a 1-0 lead. However, LSU Alexandria responded with two goals, one in the 32nd minute by Ben McCarron and another at 37' by Paul Adler, concluding the half with a 2-1 lead over the home team.
The second half saw Texas Wesleyan aggressively on the attack as
Louis Guffroy took an early shot in the 46th minute, though it went wide right. Despite multiple attempts on goal, including saves by LSU Alexandria's Ivan Capurro following shots from Rudy Gonzales and Brookins, the Rams found themselves trailing after Diego Cadabon scored for the visitors in the 63rd minute. Texas Wesleyan responded in the 73rd minute when
Marco Arduino scored his first goal of the season, assisted by
Diogo Stefane, bringing the score to 3-2.
Brookins scored one goal for Texas Wesleyan, leading the team in shots on goal with two. Arduino also contributed a goal, matching Brookins with two shots on goal. Bances and Stefane each recorded an assist, aiding the team's offensive efforts. Goalkeeper Tonietto made two saves over 45 minutes, facing four shots.
Cadabon made a significant impact for LSU Alexandria, contributing one goal and one assist, with his goal being the game-winner. Adler also found the net, scoring once on his only shot, while McCarron added another goal, matching Adler's efficiency with one shot on target. In goal, Capurro recorded five saves, facing seven shots in total. Javier Moscardo contributed to the Generals' offensive efforts with one assist during the match.
