BB: Rams Get Swept by Evangels

FORT WORTH — Texas Wesleyan University (16-4, 3-3 SAC) fell to Mid-America Christian University (14-5, 5-1 SAC ) with a final score of 5-2 on Saturday at Sycamore Park. Jorge Herrera contributed a home run for Texas Wesleyan in the fourth inning, accounting for one of its two runs.

Mid-America Christian took an early lead in the first inning, scoring three runs. A throwing error allowed Nick Hill to reach second base, followed by Frank Giacalone's RBI single that brought Hill home. Tuane Cope's triple to right-center field added two more runs, making the score 3-0.

Texas Wesleyan responded in the fourth inning. Jack Erickson homered to right field, cutting the deficit to 3-1 through four innings.

In the fifth inning, Mid-America Christian added a run when Jalen King scored on Adam Hanan's sacrifice fly. The Rams answered with a run of their own in the bottom half as Daniel Hernandez scored on a double by Endi Jaquez, bringing the score to 4-2.

Mid-America scored its final run in the sixth inning. Sammy Hallada tripled to center field and was driven in by King's single, extending the lead to 5-2.

The Rams were unable to score in the remaining innings. The game concluded with a final score of Mid-America Christian 5, Texas Wesleyan 2.

Noah Huerta opened the game for Texas Wesleyan, pitching 2 innings with 3 earned runs and 3 hits allowed, including a triple, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Rey Rivera, Jr. followed with 2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing no hits and issuing 1 walk, while maintaining a WHIP of 0.50. Jose Casado pitched 1 2/3 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, but striking out 2.
